PRETTY WILD

Watercolour butterflies and flowers.. best paints and paper.

I'm trying to remember all of the things I have been taught about painting,,
mainly from my father, Eric Austen..
the first is observation,
to look closely at your subject and just draw or paint it,
it doesn't matter if it seems wrong to start off with ,
in the end it will look right,
the second thing is not to do to much,
I think often if something isnt quite right its tempting to do more.. but it doesn't work.
I am reminded of Hokusai who spent his life doing graphic design, to support his family,, all of thos paintings of Mount Fuji ? then when he was seventy, he decided to devote his life to what he wanted to paint,, I am flooded with memories, Gea
